In the book The Closing of the American Border the dangers of opening the borders is outlined and defined. There are more risk then benefits to this topic.

Opposition to immigration is an extremely hostile political debate in the world today. Most illegal immigrants fail to assimilate into the American culture and this divides the population.

Nativism favors those people born in American and not those who illegally immigrated here. This is presuming that immigration will destroy the established cultural values because they don't know how to properly act in society.

The government should look into reinstating previously enacted immigration laws that limit the amount of nonnative born people permitted into America per year.

There are many risks to allowing illegal immigration. One being that they constantly rely on the health care services that they don't contribute too but that our citizens are forced to pay for.

Alabama currently has the strictest immigration laws in America. These laws requires officers to insure the immigration status of any one pulled over for even a routine traffic stop. Alabama has one of the lowest level of illegal immigration so these laws are clearly working well.

Since the places that immigrants are leaving are below America on the Socio-economic scale, they don't have a lot of money once they enter this country. As a result, they move into low cost housing. Americans are hesitant to move into these kinds of areas because of the class of people stereotyped to reside in them.

Illegal Immigration is not even safe for the immigrants. There is a great danger to crossing the boarder or entering illegally.

The children of these illegal immigrants are also harmed by their parents decisions all through childhood and into adulthood.

The risks and harm of illegal immigrants taking American Citizens jobs greatly outweight their benefits.
